How can I get around?

Reading is ideally placed – it’s near London, Heathrow airport and is well connected to major cities across the UK.

Public transport

Located minutes from the town centre, Reading’s train station has connections to every major city, local towns and a frequent service to London Paddington which only takes 25 minutes.

Reading has a large bus network with stops in the town centre and travels across the region. There is a regular bus service that runs along Kings Road and stops outside of the college. As a Reading College student, you will be able to get discounted travel on the bus.

Based outside the train station, RailAir buses run every 20 minutes and will take you directly to Heathrow airport.

Getting around by foot

With banks, shops, supermarkets and a post office within walking distance of each other, you’ll find everything you need in the town centre. From the town, the college is only a 20 minute walk and from the train station it is only 5 minutes further.

There are a large number of bike racks if you plan to cycle to college. If you don’t feel confident about cycling on the road there are 13 different cycle routes you can use. The routes link together through the town centre and form a network covering the main areas of the region.
