Apprentices are entitled to at least £3.30 pay per hour if they are under 19 or in the first year of the apprenticeship. After that, apprentices are entitled to the national minimum wage for their age bracket.
For those who train on an apprentice as part of the career progression, we would expect normal employment terms and conditions to remain unchanged, including salary.
If you are aged 16 to 18 at the start of the apprenticeship, 100% of your tuition will be paid for by the government. If you are aged 19 or over at the start of the apprenticeship, the government will partially-fund your tuition fees, up to a maximum of 50%.
